  • Alkyl polyglucoside

    Surfactant

The workhorse that lifts grease off a surface. Fully biodegradable within 28 days and gentle enough for a bare hand.

    Source
Corn glucose + coconut fatty alcohol
    Found in
    Dish soap, floor cleaner, wipes
  • Citric acid

    Descaler

Dissolves limescale and soap scum by lowering pH. The same acid that makes a lemon sharp.

    Source
    Fermented sugar beet
    Found in
    Dish soap, floor cleaner
  • Sodium citrate

    Chelant

Grabs calcium and magnesium in hard water so surfactants can do their job instead of fighting the tap.

    Source
    Neutralised citric acid
    Found in
    Detergent, floor cleaner
  • Sodium carbonate

    Alkalinity

Washing soda. Raises pH so fats break apart, which is most of what cleaning a kitchen actually is.

    Source
    Mineral (trona ore)
    Found in
    Oil removal wipes, detergent
  • Glycerin

    Solvent

Keeps the formula stable in cold weather and stops residue drying to a film on glass.

    Source
    Vegetable oil (RSPO certified)
    Found in

  • Lauryl glucoside

    Surfactant

A milder partner surfactant that improves foam and rinse-off without stripping skin.

    Source
    Coconut + corn
    Found in
    Dish soap, detergent
  • Lemon peel oil

    Fragrance

Cold-pressed, not synthesised. Kitchen Buddy’s signature lemon scent is this and nothing else.

  • Benzyl alcohol

  • Xanthan gum

    Thickener

Gives the dish soap enough body to cling to a greasy pan instead of running off it.

  • Sodium gluconate

    Chelant

The never list

Things we won’t formulate with

Not because they don’t work — some work very well. Because the trade-off isn’t worth it in a product you spray near food and children.

  • Quats & benzalkonium

Persistent, and overkill for a kitchen counter.

  • Synthetic fragrance blends

Undisclosable by definition. We use named oils only.

  • Phosphates

    Great chelants, terrible for waterways.

  • Optical brighteners

They dye your clothes to fake whiteness.

  • Dyes

    No cleaning function whatsoever.

  • Chlorine bleach

    Damages fabric, surfaces and lungs.

  • Phenoxyethanol

Effective, but we found a milder route.

  • Microplastic polymers

Nothing that leaves plastic behind on purpose.
